The Green Sanctuary Committee requests that you send thanks to Montgomery County Council! They passed a resolution in support of proposed Renewable Portfolio Standard bill requiring electricity suppliers (all utilities and competitive retail suppliers) in the state to procure a 50% of their electric retail sales by eligible renewable energy sources by 2030. Councilmember Roger Berliner was lead sponsor and Councilmembers George Leventhal, Marc Elrich, Hans Riemer, Sidney Katz, Tom Hucker, Nancy Navarro, and Craig Rice were co-sponsors.
