Rev. Lyn Cox

Rev. Lyn Cox is the 2018-2020 Interim Minister at UUCSS. This is her third congregation as an intentional Interim Minister, following transitional ministries in York, Pennsylvania, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Before specializing in interim ministry, Rev. Lyn served congregations in Sacramento, California, and in Fallston, Maryland. She also served a term on the staff of the Joseph Priestley District, the former geographic grouping to which UUCSS belonged.

Rev. Lyn has degrees from Loyola University Maryland (M.S. 2014), Starr King School for the Ministry (M.Div. 2003) and the University of Maryland (B.A. 1995). In addition to her credentials as a UU minister in Final Fellowship and as an Accredited Interim Minister (AIM), she passed the National Counselor Exam to become board-certified counselor in 2014. She incorporates family systems theory, solutions-focused counseling approaches, and Motivational Interviewing techniques into her group facilitation.

Rev. Lyn lives in Baltimore with her two partners, two children, and two cats. She was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys reading science fiction, taking walks, and gardening.
