On this weekend when we lift up the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we remember the Poor People’s Campaign that he was working on at the time of his death. Like the 1968 effort, the current Poor People’s Campaign calls for a “revolution of values,” organizing faith communities and the people who are most impacted to dismantle the interlocking evils of systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, militarism and the war economy, and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism. Together with Rev. Lyn, lay leaders who are addressing aspects of these issues in their organizing efforts for justice and compassion will reflect on this legacy and on the work ahead. Rev.
