Chloe will talk about what it means to be welcoming and affirming to transgender and gender non-binary persons. In light of recent political targeting of the transgender community, Chloe will also speak to what it means for a person of faith to be a true ally to transgender and gender non-binary persons at a time when this community is feeling very vulnerable. Present circumstances challenge people to open their hearts and prayers to people whose very presence can feel unsettling. This talk also calls on us to engage in the spiritual discipline of authenticity – to reach for that place where each of us can live at peace with ourselves, our identities, and our respective places in this world.
