Governor Hogan is trying to rush through a plan to widen the Beltway and 270 without doing an environmental impact or fiscal analysis study. With each mile of a new highway lane, it is estimated to produce 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions over 5 years. Pushing more car-based infrastructure is practically suicidal. We need smarter options to address traffic congestion.
