This congregation includes people who are cisgender, Transgender, nonbinary, agender, and gender non-conforming, among many other identities. We approach the blessings and challenges of building community having been trained with different models of human possibility, and with different assumptions about what it means to be welcoming. We gather to affirm, to celebrate, to learn, and to grow in the realm of gender diversity. As we honor the many ways of experiencing gender, we are better able to practice hospitality and to move toward liberation together.
