Coming of Age is a UU rite of passage for young adolescents. Similar to b’nai mitzvah for Jewish youth and Confirmation for Christian youth, Coming of Age recognizes a new stage of development, responsibility, and belonging in the religious community. For UU’s, the responsibilities of this stage include spiritual and ethical discernment and channeling your gifts and talents in community. The seven youth of this year’s Coming of Age class will co-lead this service in meditation, music, storytelling, and reflection.
